How to resubmit or upload a revision in Classic iThenticate

When you purchase a single Turnitin submission credit, it allows you to make 1 submission of up to 25,000 words* and includes up to 5 free revisions of that specific document.

*Note on word count: The official word count is calculated at the exact moment of submission. This system-calculated length may vary by a few percent from the word count reported by your word processing software (such as Microsoft Word or Google Docs).

How to upload a revision of your document

Uploading a revision will completely replace the existing version of your document and automatically generate a new Similarity Report.

  1. Log into your iThenticate account.
  2. Locate the specific document you want to revise from your dashboard.
  3. Click the blue upward arrow icon located under the Actions column.
  4. On the Upload Revision screen, fill in the required document information and choose the updated file from your device.
  5. Click the Upload button to complete the process.

⚠️ Note on revision requirements (Error -904):

To successfully upload a revision using your existing credit, the newly uploaded file must be based directly on the original document and cannot contain more than a 40% difference from the previous version.

If the text has changed by more than 40%, the system will block the upload and display Error -904. Submissions exceeding this difference threshold are treated as completely new documents and will require you to use or purchase a separate submission credit.
